Founder & Executive Chairman
Peter Rex is the Executive Chairman of ATX and an entrepreneur and investor, directing strategy, product, and capital allocation with a long-term mindset and mission to empower. Peter has completed numerous successful ventures, as the lead and sometimes only investor. In December of 2008 through 2010, while completing a JD at Harvard Law and becoming a CPA, he began executing a large value-investment strategy to buy real estate assets – including distressed notes. With world-class partners and teammates, Peter built a real estate investment company with over 500 employees that acquired 17,000+ apartments and ranked twice in Fortune’s top places to work. After strategically selling assets in a frothy market and returning more than $1B to investors with optimal returns, that company today holds approximately $500M of AUM and continues to focus only on multi-family properties.
After more than a decade in the real estate industry, Peter and his leadership team launched ATX as a new investment vehicle to invest in differentiated real estate assets, focusing on opportunities in the marketplace driven by dramatic and sudden interest rate hikes, insurance premium increases and changing owner/consumer needs. Peter earned a BA in Philosophy and Government from Georgetown University, a JD from Harvard Law School and a CPA certification.
